3 new Saw Screenshots

by Raychul on April 2, 2009

Konami just released the first two screen shots and a concept art for the new Saw game due out this fall. I am very hopeful yet nervous about this game. It’s in good hands with the Silent Hill guru Konami, but I can’t help but be worried about this new survival horror and want good things for the Saw game.

David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami, talks about his beliefs that they can make a Saw game to be what it should be, “Because we have leadership in the survival horror genre, we’re passionate about it and wanted to find another property on par with ‘Silent Hill.’ ‘Saw’ has grossed over $600 million worldwide and sold over 16 million DVDs, so we felt like it was a great opportunity to align ourselves with one of the most successful horror film franchises in history.”

In this game the plot is a new original plot that ties into the movies but not entirely. You play as a character who is trapped in asylum and must find his way out by making it through the traps that Jigsaw has set for you. It is up to you to decide to save yourself or to save the other characters who are trapped in Jigsaws “game” and how to go about saving them.

Daniels goes on explaining, Silent Hill is more about psychological terror, but ‘Saw’ for us is more about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you. We want players to turn away from the screen for just a moment because of the visual intensity.”
